Global Village Market raised $44,980.31 for social justice nonpropfits in 2023!

First, we are grateful to all of the social justice and fair trade vendors who pledge their daily commitment to seeking justice and equity in an unjust world. Also, a big thank you to the committee-led group of about 25 core volunteers who made our 17th market a success, generating $44,980,31 in revenue, $3,473.84 more than last year.

To Sharon Bradley, Tiffany Valona, Donna Aldridge, and Keli Ward, a HUGE thank you for your thoughtful and thorough leadership for our setup and tear-down crew. It felt easy with so many hands to help and clear guidance.

Thank you to Trish Major, Tracy Wallace, and Karen Post for their steadfast commitment to the mission of the Global Village Market, bringing together fair trade and social justice non-profits globally and locally.

Rachel Harris got the word out for publicity and social media advertising with the support of Suzette Harris and Pastor Andrew Fiser.

Kristi Hassell compiled the lineup of musicians, Galen Wallace-McCollom, Stephen Houpt, Jordan Jones and Standards-Gazette, bringing positive vibes for the weekend.

Thank you to Ron Hardy and Mark McCollum for their leadership with the audio on Saturday.

To Clyde Thompson and Diane Mims, we are thankful you can count wisely and precisely to make all the numbers make sense.

The Greenland Hills youth group provided food and drinks, headed up by the steadfast and also super fun Kristin Mallory. So many young people helping in so many varied ways all weekend.

Yummy gratitude for Tracy Curts' baking and leading the coordination of all the pie bakers at Greenland Hills, and there were many pies.

To Michelle Gonzales for providing the artwork for this year's Global Village market card. Thank you to Tracy Anne Alred and John and Sandy Hitz for taking photos of the market to remember all the good things.

Last but not least, thank you to Robyn Kirk, Judy Klein, and Kathy Love, who helped come up with fun ideas for our committee meetings to inspire our dedicated group and also helped keep our group on track from start to finish. Plus, Robyn made homemade muffins for our volunteers, even with a newborn. Yum!

They say it takes a village…to raise a child or, in the old days...to raise a barn…or really to accomplish anything significant. Our small village here at Greenland Hills always comes through for each other; this year was no exception.

Thank you,

Vonda Klimaszewski
